New piece: “Tarantella”
Sheet music and recordings available below
With three weeks until our first 2017 ensemble rehearsal, here is a piece you can start working on at home.
All Intermediate and Senior ensemble students will prepare this piece in our weekly rehearsals, with combined performances at the school throughout the year. On top of this, selected string members from each ensemble will be given the opportunity to perform this piece at the Sydney Opera House in August.
Music will be handed out in rehearsals, however, I recommend getting started now (sheet music can be found here: “Tarantella Sheet Music”). I have added markings on to each part in order to help with fingerings.
In order for our violin students to download the correct part, please check whether you are playing ‘violin 1’ or ‘violin 2’.
Violin 1: Jake E, Ethan T, Swathi S, Levi C, Auden G
Violin 2: Adina H, Niamh F, Katherine F, Tafley F, Isabella C
Viola: Azahlea B
D Bass: Titan S
I look forward to receiving many questions from our students!

Hi Dean, Could you demonstrate how to play F natural on E and then move to A and D string (62nd measure) in Tarantella? Thanks. Best regards, Katie F.
